Hi there! My name is La Cracha (pronounced Lacrisha) Handy, and I am running for school board in the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools District.

I was appointed to the school board on August 31, 2021, and I am on the ballot for the general election on November 8, 2022.

Since my appointment to the Board of Education, I have received my Level 1 Certified Boardmember Award, and the Level 2 Merit Award. I was recently appointed to serve on the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Government Relations Committee, and I am one required class away from receiving my Advocacy Skills Award.

In addition to my service on the Board of Education, I serve on the Genesee Intermediate School District’s Parent Advisory Committee, and I am a volunteer education surrogate parent.

My campaign has been endorsed by the Carman-Ainsworth Education Association and I am honored to have received this endorsement.

I love serving my community in this capacity, and with your vote, I can continue my dedicated service. I will continue to help ensure students receive a quality education in a safe environment, continue to help pass a balanced budget, and continue to help ratify successful collective bargaining agreements.
